Do not use a straw after your procedure, as the sucking motion can loosen sutures and slow the clotting process. You also will need to avoid smoking. If you have prolonged pain, bleeding, irritation, or don’t feel that the extraction site is healing properly, reach out for a follow-up. Don’t ignore these symptoms.
