Dr. Holly
McIver D.D.S.
Dr. McIver was born in New Jersey and raised and educated in Kingwood, Texas. She attended the University of Notre Dame where she graduated cum laude in 2006 with dual majors in Science-Business and Spanish. During her time at Notre Dame, Dr. Holly studied and lived abroad in Puebla, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. McIver earned her D.D.S. at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in the Houston medical center and graduated at the top of her class with OKU honors. She continued there to complete a two year orthodontic residency earning a Masters of Science in Dentistry with a specialty in orthodontics as well as a postgraduate certificate in orthodontics.
After graduating, Dr. Holly built and opened a private orthodontic practice in her hometown for 3 years while also teaching part-time as an associate professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics. Her family moved to Bainbridge Island, WA in 2017 where in addition to working as a private practice Orthodontist at a local practice, Dr. Holly served as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry Orthodontics Department where she helped train future orthodontists. She recently moved back home to Texas and was excited to have the opportunity to be teaching one day a week again at her alma mater, UT School of Dentistry, in the orthodontic department.
Dr. Holly has always been interested in working in dentistry, but during her own treatment in braces realized her desire to become an orthodontist. This profession offers a unique opportunity to work with patients of all ages over a significant period of time to help them achieve happy and healthy smiles. She loves being a part of her patients’ life in a positive way! In her experience, the most rewarding part of her job is watching her patients on the day their braces come off, showing off their new smiles, and knowing she has helped them reach a goal!
Honors and Awards
Dr. McIver’s masters thesis on mini-implant devices used in orthodontics was selected during her residency to be presented at the American Association of Orthodontics Annual Meeting and has been published in the Angle Orthodontic Journal. During her dental and orthodontic education she was honored to receive the following awards:

Dr. Holly is a Board Certified Orthodonist and member of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Outside the Office
Dr. Holly married her high school sweetheart, Rich McIver, and they have four children; Evelyn (12), Patrick (9), Graham (3), and Mary (1) . She enjoys spending time with her family, including their dog Scout, spending time in Galveston at the beach, doing crossfit, baking sourdough, cheering on all the kids at their sports and activities, and most of all cheering on her favorite team, the Fighting Irish!
Dr. Holly is active in the community as a member of the PTO, the Notre Dame Club of Houston, and as an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in the Woodlands, TX.
