What is CEREC?

The CEREC Process

The process begins with professional cleaning of your teeth. Then, a computer-aided impression is generated by creating a 3D image, which is run through a software program to produce an absolutely precise mold. Instead of the traditional impression going to a dental lab, the next step is using the software to mill a restoration from a block of ceramic or composite resin. You now have a final crown placed in just one visit. This also eliminates the traditional temporary crown or onlay that your dentist would have sent you home with as you await the final product from the dental lab.
